Performance is at the heart of being a musician. It is the culmination of
months and even years of hard, committed, and loving work. Music
students learn that generosity comes in many forms and venues. In
sharing their hearts with others, they also learn how to preserve, no
matter what the external circumstances. Being vulnerable is a huge part
of performance, but is also where feelings are most expressed.
Looking at the whole of Shackford Music Studio, St. Stephens Episcopal
School and The Suzuki Music and Teacher Training Academy of Tampa
Bay, all three locations are part of a performing team and we perform as
a unified group several times during the year. It is a very special time for
the students and the attendance from the entire group is essential. We
do this for both our students and our community.
